Location:S248Track:Workshops

Sign-ups available from 27 Oct 2025, 08:00 to 18 Jan 2026, 22:00

In this session, we are going to take a hard look at why so many promising innovations do not become the anticipated success.

After identifying and defining the problems, we will workshop ways to overcome the challenges and how we can create more impact from innovation.

 Key questions we will discuss:

  • What does research tell us about innovation success?

  • From idea to market: in what stage do innovations fail and why?

  • Will innovation management come to the rescue?

  • How should we deal with uncertainty and de-risking innovations?

  • What are the different success factors of startups and incumbents regarding innovations?

  • How to address the challenge of go-to-market, scaling, and transforming?

  • Which are the biggest gaps for academia to address for making innovation efforts more successful?

 Expected Outcomes:

  • As an outcome, we should have a better collective understanding of the real challenges and critical success factors of innovation, and what academia can do differently to make innovation efforts more successful in practice for the benefit of our economy and society.
