Breakout Session: How Incubators Bridge the Gap Between Research & Market
Sign-ups available from 27 Oct 2025, 08:00 to 13 Jan 2026, 18:00
Incubators are not just bridges between research and market they are living ecosystems where ideas mutate, disciplines collide, and innovation takes root in unexpected ways. This session brings together two complementary models: the Timber Startup Incubator, focused on a specific material and industry, and Pulse, the pre-incubator of HES-SO Geneva, where designers, engineers, managers, and artists co-create across boundaries. Together, we’ll explore how thematic and interdisciplinary approaches can coexist and inspire new paths for collaboration and impact.
Expected Outcome:
- Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of different incubator models and their roles in fostering innovation. The discussion will identify best practices for encouraging cross-sector synergies, and generate concrete ideas on how to design incubators that break silos connecting research, creativity, and market needs.
